a forum for building community and to honor the
many facets of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and

Boonepride.org is the High Country's leading
online Web portals devoted to uniting and representing
the area’s LGBT community. The free, donation-supported
service brings you local news and updates about
everything from social activities to activism.
The site also promotes Boone’s annual gay
pride event.

BLACK PRIDE MOVEMENT
Carolinas Black Pride Movement was created
to be an incubator of black gay culture; to explore
and exhibit the beautiful duality of being gay
and of African descent. CBPM serves black SLGBT
communities in North and South Carolina. |

NC BLACK GAY PRIDE
For years, Charlotte's gay pride celebration
included frighteningly little diversity. After
traveling to many cities to experience their gay
pride celebrations and perusing through countless
copies of pride guides from additional cities,
Damon Blackman set out to create Charlotte's first
black gay pride celebration. |

NORTH
CAROLINA PRIDE
The Pride Committee of North Carolina's mission
statement reflects the fact that despite many
social, political and economic gains that have
been made by individuals and institutions in various
LGBT communities throughout North Carolina, much
work still needs to be done. At the same time,
however, we understand the need to celebrate our
victories and accomplishments.

should be greeted, introduced, and made to feel
welcome. Events with a designated HostGrrrl will
have someone available to facilitate meeting and
greeting. Women who attend are fun and interested
